Ramses J. Dunker is a visual artist, pianist and performer based in the Netherlands. He graduated in Piano with a focus on South American music at Codarts (Rotterdam Conservatory). Over the years he has worked in many creative roles — as a musician/musical director, actor, teacher, workshop leader, and retreat musician.

While music remained a steady thread — rooted in his father’s musical background — his visual work has recently taken on a life of its own; drawing has always been present in his life. During a period of personal crisis, he began carving linocuts — a quiet, physical practice that became the root of a larger body of work. Many of his prints were later reworked digitally into layered, mask-like portraits — the basis for his current project and exhibition: Persona.

Ramses is also active as a musician in the orchestra of the Dutch musical Soldaat van Oranje, and occasionally contributes music to plant medicine retreats. He is currently exploring ways to combine visual art, storytelling and sound into new forms.
